Leadership Santa Ana

In collaboration Neighborhood Housing Service of Orange County and Orange County Human Relations Commission and the City of Santa Ana will be presenting Leadership Santa Ana, a six-month leadership training program, including a retreat and graduation component. The training is geared for existing and emerging neighborhood association leaders and provides an opportunity to learn the different strategies for improving the capacity of their neighborhood association.

The Leadership Santa Ana (LSA) training builds upon the Leadership Plenty program offered to Santa Ana residents. The new LSA training will be integrating an assessment tool for participants to consider when reviewing and planning for their neighborhood association in the areas of community assessment, leadership and resource development, collaboration, partnership, and networks. The outcome of the program will be for participants to develop and present a capacity building plan and strategies for goal attainment for their respective neighborhood association.

Training Topics include:

  • Finding Leaders Within
  • Identifying Community Assets
  • Building Strategic Partnerships
  • Managing Groups for Results
  • Making Meetings Work Better
  • Moving from Talk to Action
  • Managing Conflict
  • Communicating Your Message
  • Valuing Evaluation and Reflection
  • Neighborhood Capacity Building Plan and Goal Attainment Strategies

Training sessions are free of charge and will be held every other Wednesday in the Santa Ana Public Library’s 2nd floor Conference Room from 6:00 pm – 8:30 pm, beginning with an orientation scheduled for Wednesday, June 25th.
