Pride Day

Neighborhood Pride Day

Neighborhood Housing Services of Orange County annually hosts Neighborhood Pride Days in targeted neighborhoods throughout the county. These events bring together corporate sponsors and volunteers to help lower income and senior homeowners improve their homes and brighten their neighborhoods. Pride Day is a huge block party featuring entertainment, food, and people working together to make a difference in their community. Volunteers make small repairs, paint home exteriors, clean up refuse, and plant new landscaping.

Pride Days make a dramatic impact on neighborhoods that may be deteriorating. These people-oriented events help create neighborhood and community pride and inspire other residents to take action and improve their homes and surroundings. More than 100 families have been assisted through the Pride Day programs.

Development of multifamily and single-family residential housing will expand as NHS OC’s resources and opportunities grow. NHS OC works with local governments and agencies in their efforts to redevelop under-utilized commercial properties into residential and mixed-use communities.
NHS OC’s certification by the U.S. Treasury Department as a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) offers important financing resources for these development programs
